Pre-lift checks without slipping schedule

On this morning’s curtain wall set we staged 12 lites by 7:15, ran a strict 10-minute pre-lift check on the vacuum lifter seals, tag lines, and radios, and still hit first glass at 9:00 with no stop-work. How are you structuring your huddle so it satisfies site safety and ANSI Z97.1 requirements without dragging the workflow?

But shift radio and tag-line checks to stretch-and-flex at 7:40 and timebox the lift huddle to 6 minutes with a laminated card pre-filled with pad serials, a quick ‘call-and-point’ for valves/alarms, and QA initials confirming Z97.1 marking/edge condition while citing ASME B30.20 for the lifter. Keeps it a halftime huddle, not a board meeting. Would moving comms upstream let you keep first glass at 9:00 and still cut the pre-lift to 6–8 minutes?

I like to use a quick checklist on a tablet during the pre-lift checks; it helps keep everyone focused and accountable. While sticking to a strict 10-minute window is great, adding a couple of minutes for a quick debrief can really clarify roles and boost safety compliance. Have you found your team engages more with visual tools like that?
