Quick question. I’m specifying large satin‑etched low‑iron lites (10’ × 4’) and need a lifter that won’t ghost or bruise the surface; has anyone compared GRABO with Bohle’s white‑seal Veribor on acid‑etch during install, and do the marks release cleanly without residual sheen? I’m aiming to preserve the diffusion and keep sightlines pristine.
On 10’×4’ satin‑etched low‑iron we’ve had cleaner releases with Bohle’s “white‑seal Veribor” than GRABO — the GRABO foam left a faint halo that needed a DI wipe, while fresh white seals flashed off in about 10 minutes with no “residual sheen”. Tip: rinse the seals and contact area with DI only and set slightly damp, then break vacuum and wait 2–3 minutes before any wipe‑down; avoid glass cleaner, it can burnish the diffusion. Are you lifting off factory film or going on bare etch?
And i’ve found that using Bohle’s white‑seal Veribor really helps avoid those ghosting issues. Just be careful with the surface prep to ensure a clean release.
I’ve had great luck using rubber lifting pads too, but you still might get faint marks. Have you tested anything else aside from Bohle’s?
