On installs, the skill that saves me most is dry-fitting with setting blocks before sealant — ‘measure the opening you’ll create,’ not the naked reveal; I pop in 3 mm packers at the head and hinge side, drop the lite, and check for bind before committing. Precision is huge, but this catches out-of-plumb frames that a tape won’t and prevents edge stress on tempered. Do you all standardize on 2 or 3 mm blocks for float vs. laminate?
